Animation with pipe cleaners

For my next animation i am looking at trying something with pipe cleaners. My idea is to create the effect of someone running and jumping over a hurdle. I came across this tutorial on how they can be used in stop-motion animation..

I imagine they might be quite fiddly to work with but the effect that i am looking for could be acheived through this method.
