Feedback from the client 9/11/11 - remaining page designs

Our client has given us some feedback on the remaining page designs that we sent a few days ago. There were a few changes that needed to be made for the Contact us, Exhibitions and Events pages.

We had originally planned for the 'book now' icons on the Events page to take you to a page where you could book for that particular event, however as we are only in charge of the website up until Christmas, this would be something that would constantly need updating afterwards, so instead the Towner decided on replacing theese buttons with a 'more details' link which would take the user to the main site where they could then book up an event.

Thoughts on these:

Mailing list – looks great

Mailing list thanks – this is a nice touch (would I be able to update message in future if need be?)

Contact us – looks great, but I think we should keep really simple by getting rid of Towner staff section completely (liked the addition of the Towner mobile website team though, don’t know whether there’s somewhere else we might be able to fit this in!)

Exhibitions

– like the format

– could we try having the exhibition title / dates above the image?

– can the exhibition titles also be links (in addition to the ‘Read more >>’ links below), in keeping with the main site?

– (we’ll also need to add our other current exhibition New Eyes, under Franziska Furter)

Events

– I think we should list by date rather than type if possible? (as people may not think to scroll all the way down to find family events…)

– Could we change ‘(Click for more details)’ under the event date to a ‘More details >>’ link at the end of the event info, to maintain convention with main site? (again it would be good if the event titles were also links)

– After Jon’s helpful suggestion that the ‘book now’ buttons might require too much work in terms of updating, I agree that it would be best to leave these out – as the ‘More details >>’ links will lead to online booking through the main site anyway… So sorry for the change of heart here!

Only last thing to say is that I’m going to be out of the office now for the next week and a half, so won’t be able to respond again until week beginning 21 November – hope this won’t make things difficult for you.
