I want to set the mood of my animation my using appropriate colours.
I had the idea that as my animation progresses and the situation begins to resolve itself the colours will change from a drab washed out colour scheme to a bright and cheerful one, this clearly would represent a change of mood .
Grey, Black, Brown and any washed out colours tend to represent a depressing scene.
Blue, Orange, Red, Green represent a more positive scene.

Kinetic Typography with voiceover
It would make sense obviously to have a voice-over in my AFT animation, and so, if i was looking at using kinetic type I would need to time the voiceover correctly with the imagery on screen, here is a great example of text + voiceover
Kinetic Typography
I have been looking into using this method of kinetic typography in my animation. This is a very clever piece put together about the Helvetica typeface, i love the effect of kinetic type and how it uses letters and words to form the shape of an object. Choosing the right fonts for this method would be crucial.
Hand Drawn Animation
Althougth drawn imagery is not an idea that i would have first looked at for my animation, i really like the effect that these animations have... The characters look friendly and although it is telling a sombre story, the animations are still portrayed in a positive light through the characters.

BUPA Animation
I came across this advertising campaign for BUPA healthcare.
This is in the same sort of area that i will be animating for and again, uses a lighthearted and uplifting approach. Like my AFT animation, there is a story behind the advert.
I particulary like the way this uses basic shapes to resemble various objects. They style of animation and soundtrack partially resemble a cartoon and give it a cheerful vibe.

Animation research
In order to gain some inspiration for my upcoming animation for AFT family therapy i have decided to look at the recent 'change for life' campaign which uses plasticine figures and illustrated backgrounds to inform the viewing public, in a very light hearted way, how they should change their way of living.

AFT Family Therapy
http://www.aft.org.uk/home/familytherapy.asp
To get to grips with the animation i need to look into what service AFT provides and what their organisation is all about. I need to then make sure that this message is echoed in the final animation.
