On two occasions I made a visit to the Bluebell Railway in Sheffield Park, East Sussex to take some good pictures of their steam trains for my book cover... as you can see....the snow was rather a problem on the first visit!

Water For Elephants - Book Cover/Banner Research
The 'New York Central System' design is one that i created from a photoshop tutorial, i really like the striped sunset and the grungy 'old' feel about it.
The 'Railways' picture is a front cover for 'Design' magazine. The cover was designed by Ken Garland. I espeially like the contrasting colours and the clever way the type is used to suggest the train tracks. This is what a circus would have looked like around the time the book was set in. This really gives you a feel for the time.
